Our First RI Summer
As we look back on the summer of 2024 we know it will forever be a cherished memory for Myrth. The summer was busy, yet so very fulfilling as we fully settled into our new Providence studio. We produced over 3000 pieces for our two largest restaurant orders to date, teamed up with a Top Chef winner, and installed new game-changing equipment that up-leveled our production capabilities. Most excitingly, we are making some of the finest quality Myrth tableware ever.
COLLABORATION
Time + Tide
A major Myrth milestone!! Myrth produced all plateware for Kent Hospitality’s newest restaurant Tide + Time in Manhattan, which is also our debut in New York. We made over 1600 pieces, our largest order to date, for Executive Chef Danny Garcia, who won the most recent season of Top Chef. The photos below span from creation in the studio this summer through to the Time and Tide opening party in October.
COLLABORATION
PostBoy
Earlier this summer we had the great stroke of luck to cross paths with Chef James Galbraith owner of Houndstooth and Anemel. We partnered with Chef James and produced all of the plateware (1400 pieces) for his latest project PostBoy now open on the southern shore of Lake Michigan.
PROCESS
New clay
Just in time for our two huge restaurant collaborations we launched a new porcelain clay recipe. This clay was the result of a months-long development project we undertook to create a proprietary porcelain with enhanced durability and easier sourcing. This new super clay has been a game-changer for the studio and is resulting in some of the highest quality Myrth tableware to date!
PROCESS
New Equipement
At long last in August, in the middle of a torrential rainstorm, we took delivery of our new tableware forming machine. You may remember our campaign for this machine around this time last year. It will be used to form all of our plates and bowls going forward. We’ve spent the past few months getting it set up and running, and the results so far are jaw-dropping (see plate photo above + below). Our dishes haven’t looked better!
