Made for Mirth
Porcelain tableware and vessels, handmade in Providence, Rhode Island. Restaurant-grade, so there's no reason to save it for someday.
Most Coveted
Brandywine is our Studio Edition glaze for the rest of the year, available through December. A rich red that stops just short of burgundy, dappled light and dark across the surface, with the depth of a Brandywine heirloom tomato where the red turns toward brown. Glazed and fired in our Rhode Island studio, and unusually soft in the hand. When the run closes, Brandywine closes with it.
Three bowls, each built for a different kind of meal. Select your piece from the dropdown.
The Tasting Bowl is our smallest at 6 inches. Right for cereal, warming soups, ice cream, or a smaller tasting portion. Pairs beautifully with our Oval Platters as a dipping bowl for entertaining.
The Helping Bowl is the one most people reach for every night. At 8 inches and 32oz, it is built for ramen, pasta, and grain bowls. Its flat bottom makes it easy to cut solid foods while the curved sides scoop cleanly.
The Basso Bowl is a chef favorite, a 9 inch shallow bowl-plate hybrid for pasta, risotto, and anything saucy. Its wide flat base gives you ample plating surface while the curved walls keep sauces where you want them.
Brandywine was made to mix into a collection you already have. Rosewood is its closest relation, a warm cocoa brown with red undertones and a soft gloss surface, so the two read as related rather than matched. Dove works differently. Its warm grey carries a faint lavender undertone that meets Brandywine's pink, and satin matte next to a dappled surface puts two kinds of light on one table.
Made to order, ships in approximately 3 to 4 weeks.

Two platters, sized for two different kinds of table. Select your piece from the dropdown.
The 12 inch Oval Platter is the everyday one. Roasted vegetables, a small cheese board, cookies, whatever you carry out of the kitchen without ceremony. It still fits in a normal cabinet.
The 16 inch Oval Platter is for the table with people around it. A whole fish, a roast, a full spread of tomatoes in September. Heavy enough that it stays put once you set it down.
Both give you a long stretch of uninterrupted surface, which is where Brandywine's dappling reads clearest.

The Feast Bowl is one of the largest piece we make for the table. Ten inches across, 3.25 inches deep, 64oz. Pasta for four, a full salad, mussels, rice for everyone at once. It goes down in the middle and does not move until the meal is over.
It is also the piece we most often see standing in for a fruit bowl on a counter between dinners. The depth gives Brandywine somewhere to gather, and the color reads darkest along the interior curve.

Two vessels for drinking. Select your piece from the dropdown.
The Swig Cup is 3 inches across and holds 8oz. No handle, which is deliberate. Wrap both hands around it for coffee in the morning, pour wine into it at night. Our dense porcelain holds heat longer than standard ceramics, so what is in it stays warm.
The Sake Cup Set is a pair, sized for sake served warm or cold and equally good for espresso, digestifs, or a small pour of anything. Sold as two.
Drinkware is where hand feel matters most, and Brandywine is the softest surface we have made.

Every piece is made by hand in our Providence, Rhode Island studio from our proprietary porcelain, so the whole setting is chip-resistant, crack-resistant, and built to come back from daily use looking the way it did. Start here, then add serving pieces and extra bowls as the table grows.

Twelve inches of surface for starters, cheese, canapés, and the side dishes that circle a main. The oval breaks up a table of round dishes and gives more usable room than a round platter of the same footprint. Pair it with a Tasting Bowl for dips and spreads, or use it on a weeknight for whatever came out of the oven.
Made by hand in our Providence, Rhode Island studio from our proprietary porcelain. Chip-resistant, crack-resistant, and glazed to hold its depth through years of entertaining and dishwasher cycles.

Ten and a half inches, with a low rim that gives food an edge to sit against without turning the plate into a frame. Enough room for a composed plate and enough restraint to disappear under a Tuesday dinner. It is the foundation of the collection and the piece we make more of than any other.
Made by hand in our Providence, Rhode Island studio from our proprietary porcelain. Restaurants run it through service and the dish pit every night. At home it will outlast the table it sits on.

Eight inches and thirty-two ounces, built for the meals that repeat: pasta, ramen, grain bowls, salads. The flat bottom makes it easy to cut into whatever is in it. The curved sides keep broth and sauce where they belong. It holds a generous portion without taking over the table.

Part plate, part bowl. Nine inches wide and two inches deep, with enough floor to plate on and enough wall to keep a sauce pooled where you put it. It is the piece chefs specify most often, and it is built for the dish that is too saucy for a plate and too composed for a deep bowl.
Made by hand in our Providence, Rhode Island studio from our proprietary porcelain, chip-resistant and crack-resistant through years of daily use. The low, wide profile is what makes it work for pasta, risotto, and anything brothy that still wants to be seen.

Three plates, each sized for a different part of the meal. Select your piece from the dropdown.
The Dinner Plate is 10.5 inches and shows the most glaze of anything we make. A wide flat surface with a subtle lip, built for a full plate of food and for the nights it comes out of the dishwasher and goes straight back on the table.
The Appetizer Plate is 8 inches. First courses, salads, toast, a slice of pie. The piece most people underestimate and then reach for constantly.
The Morsel Plate is 6 inches. Bread and butter, a few olives, dessert, a spoon rest. Small enough to buy several without thinking about it.
