Our glazes
Our glazes are created from scratch, starting with tried and true base recipes, then tinkering with color and surface finish. This process takes countless glaze micro-batches and innumerable firing tests to produce the results we are after. We are continually retesting our core glazes to ensure consistency and refined finish. Due to this customization Myrth glazes are truly unique to our studio.
-
To create our glazes we use a range of standard ceramic minerals and clays. Our recipes do not contain lead or cadmium which you of course don’t want in your dishes, and we don’t want to handle in the studio.
-
Myrth glazes have been carefully designed to be timeless shades that compliment your home for many years. Our color palette evolves slowly with our core colors running for roughly two years so you have time to mindfully build your collection. Occasionally materials shortages may reduce a glaze’s run.
-
Myrth glazes are designed for everyday use and engineered to last. All of our wares are dishwasher safe. Over time, marks left by silverware or other cutlery may form on the glaze surface. These marks can be removed by buffing with powdered cleansers like Bon Ami on a damp sponge or Scotch-brite pad.
