Job Description
The Production Assistant will support multiple production processes and product delivery systems within the Myrth studio. The Assistant will be an active support to dinnerware product forming and glaze processing. They will work in close partnership with the forming and glazing leads to aid and expedite manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
Support the workflow of the product forming process through the following tasks: preparation of clay and molds for jiggering and slip casting, trimming greenware, maintaining tidy workstations, preparing & recycling clay, moving & organizing green and bisquewares.
Support the workflow of glaze production process through the following tasks:. Cleaning wares, loading kilns, dip/fountain glazing items, sanding finishes items, and organizing stock.
Data entry into Google Sheets + Docs for production tracking.
Preparing orders for completion + packing shipments.
Qualifications + Skills Required
A minimum of 6 months production ceramics experience. Degree in ceramics is a plus.
Broad practical knowledge of ceramic production processes, including slip casting and jigger forming.
Practical knowledge of mold-making techniques.
Quality oriented and enjoyment of methodical processes.
Reliable, punctual, with exceptional time management.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Maintaining systems of organization.
Ability to lift 40 lbs and stand on your feet for extended periods of time.

Location + Hours
This role is located onsite at Myrth’s production facility in East Providence (Rumford) Rhode Island within the Philipsdale Landing complex. Candidates must have their own transportation to and from the facility. This is a part-time hourly position of 3 days/24 hrs per week for the next 3 months.
Compensation
This part time contract position pays $20 per hour and reports to the two owners of Myrth.
